
Studio Rules
Welcome to PMC Motion Arts Collective! To ensure a positive, productive, and safe environment for all, please review and follow our studio rules and dress codes.
1. Arrive on Time
Be punctual for all classes. Arriving late can disrupt the class and make it difficult to warm up properly.
2. Dress Code
Please follow the dress code specific to your class.
Ballet Class Dress Code
Leotard: A solid color (preferably pink or black)
Tights: Pink tights for female dancers or black tights for male dancers.
Shoes: Ballet slippers (pink or black)
Hair: Hair should be in a neat bun for girls and styled away from the face for boys.
Optional: Skirts or tutus.
ADult Abs and Stretch Class Dress Code
Comfortable Activewear: Wear form-fitting workout clothes such as leggings, athletic shorts, or tank tops that allow for movement and flexibility.
Footwear: Most students can work barefoot or wear supportive athletic shoes.
Hair: Hair should be pulled back and out of the face for safety and comfort.
Yoga Mat: Bring a yoga mat for floor work, or wear socks for extra grip during stretches.
Tap Class Dress Code:
Tops: A fitted top such as a tank top, t-shirt, or leotard that allows freedom of movement.
Bottoms: Comfortable leggings, dance shorts, or fitted pants that allow movement while still showing your form.
Shoes: Tap shoes are required (make sure they fit well for safety and sound quality).
Hair: Hair should be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or bun.
Yoga Class Dress Code
Comfortable Activewear: Wear stretchy, form-fitting clothing such as leggings, yoga pants, tank tops, or t-shirts that allow for full range of motion.
Footwear: Most students practice barefoot for better grip and stability.
Hair: Hair should be pulled back and out of the face for safety and comfort.
Yoga Mat: Please bring your own yoga mat for floor work.
Jiu Jitsu Class Dress Code:
Gi (Uniform): A traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi is required for most Jiu Jitsu classes. Please ensure it is clean and fits properly.
Rash Guard: If you're practicing no-gi Jiu Jitsu, wear a rash guard or athletic shirt designed for grappling.
Bottoms: Gi pants for traditional classes or comfortable athletic shorts (no pockets) for no-gi classes.
Footwear: Jiu Jitsu is typically practiced barefoot to maintain hygiene and safety.
Hair: Hair should be tied back and out of the face to avoid injury.
3. Respect Others
Be respectful to teachers, classmates, and studio staff. This includes not talking over the teacher, being considerate of others' space, and supporting fellow students.
4. No Food or Drink in the Studio
Food and drinks (except water) are not allowed in the dance area. Please keep all snacks and meals in the patio area.
5. No Shoes on Dance Floors
Street shoes are not allowed on the dance floor to maintain cleanliness and prevent damage. Only dance/athletic shoes or bare feet are permitted.
6. Safety First
Always follow safety guidelines to avoid injury. This includes using proper technique, listening to your teacher, and refraining from horseplay.
7. Stay in Class
Once the class begins, students should remain in the room unless there is an emergency or specific permission to leave.
8. Respect the Space
Please keep the studio clean by picking up after yourself and avoiding unnecessary touching of mirrors or other equipment.
9. Cell Phones
Please turn off or silence cell phones during class to minimize distractions.
10. Behavior
Maintain a positive attitude and focus on learning. Disruptive behavior or disrespectful actions may result in being asked to leave the class.
11. No People Allowed in the Studio During Class Time
To maintain a focused and uninterrupted learning environment, only students and teachers are allowed in the studio during class time. Caregivers, siblings, and others are asked to watch from the designated viewing area, the patio through the sliding glass door.
